Record Turnout for Fifth Annual Ski Your Age in Kilometers |

219 participated, 115 skied their age, more than 5400 kilometers were skied in the 5th annual Wells Fargo Ski Your Age in Kilometers, presented by Banner Health. The event was a fund-raiser for the Fairbanks Cross Country (FXC) ski program, the year-round junior training program of the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks. |

Fifth Annual Ski Your Age in K’s Slated for Boxing Day (December 26). The fifth annual Wells Fargo “Ski Your Age in K’s”, presented by Banner Health, is scheduled for the day after Christmas, Friday, December 26. The purpose of the event is to get as many people as possible out the door for some post-Christmas exercise. The event, for which there is no entry fee, is a fund-raiser for FXC (Fairbanks Cross Country) the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks’ year-round junior race program. |

Korthauer, Hanneman Tie; Davya Flaharty Wins in Distance Series Opener |

Marius Korthauer (UAF All-American in 2008) did most of the work during the race, but Reese Hanneman (FAST) came around him at the finish and threw a foot out to secure a tie in the men's 15Km in the Gundeloppet, the Chest Medicine Fairbanks Distance Series Season Opener on Sunday, December 14 at Birch Hill Recreation Area. In the women's 15Km, Davya (Baker) Flaharty topped Heather Edic (FXC) by 2:44 to earn the win. |

West Valley High School's Marisa Rorabaugh and Team FAST's Reese Hanneman were the winners of the second race in the Flint Hills Resources Town Race Series, the Fairbanks Youth Sports Classic Sprint. The race marked the first competiton held on the newly-upgraded sprint course at Birch Hill. Most skiers enjoyed the more interesting and challenging course. |

Another Record Field for Turkey Day Relays |

The 43rd Annual Turkey Day Relays, sponsored by Beaver Sports, saw a record field of 105 teams (315 skiers) register, and all but one registered team participated. In the past seven days, a total of nearly 800 competitors have entered the three NSCF events held so far this season. |

The Alaska Nanooks took the top 3 collegiate places in the women's 5Km and the Nanook men placed 1-2-4 in the collegiate division of the men's USSA NRL Points race, enabling the Nanooks to overcome a first day deficit of 27-15 and capture a 44-40 victory over the UAA Seawolves in the Alaska Nordic Cup. |
